Believe In Your Potential

I love this quote by Marianne Williamson

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of god. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make and manifest the glory of god that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~Marianne Williamson

So what exactly does this mean and how can you believe in your potential?

For the people who are familiar with the law of attraction and spirituality this is easy to understand. For all others it might not make any sense. So if it does not make sense to you, don't worry, it's hard to understand and it might take some time, it's ok.

At our core we all are powerful beings, but we have forgotten and some of us are used to playing small. Unfortunately there is no fulfilment or happiness in playing small. We all have the potential to play big, to do the things we love to do, to be the best we can be and to be of service in some way. I would like to suggest to volunteer somewhere, share something, smile at someone, say a kind word, make an effort and talk to someone new when there is a chance. It can be small things and they might evolve into something larger.

Not everybody believes in their potential, but the good news is: it can be learned. It's like a workout at the gym, where you train your muscles, but in this case you train your mind.

How does it work?

  • Surround yourself with positive people
  • Learn something new
  • Work with a coach or a mentor
  • Be good to yourself
  • Be aware of your thoughts
  • Be aware of your actions

These are very simple things to do and most of them are free. It might be the first step to a new life, a life of possibility, fun, exitement, yes all of it. I changed my life from being small, angry and depressed to: happy, inspired, motivated and successful. I went through it all, I know it can be done. Even you, yes YOU can believe in your potential.

As long as you have the willingness to change and transform. Every change feels uncomfortable, because our mind's sole purpose is to keep us safe, not happy. Anything new is unsafe to the mind and it reacts with fear and resistance. Yes I know it sounds weird, one might ask why is the mind so "dysfunctional"?

Well I don't know the answer, but once you know this practice you can try something new and "outsmart" the mind. Start small by doing new things and see how your body reacts. Where do you feel it in your body? Just be aware of everything. By doing this as a practice you will start noticing the feelings and sensations in your body and you can make a choice to act in spite of fear. The more you play with this, the more power you will get. The more power you get, the more you will believe in your potential. Turn it into a game and have fun with it! Empower your life!

The  homework is to practice this. As always, I would love some feedback, it helps everybody.
